William Lillecrapp

Business Owner

Will is the General Manager of Coverings Sunshine Coast, and comes with a wealth of knowledge in the industry. Trained in the Coverings head office located on the Gold Coast, he started the Sunshine Coast franchise in 2018, with exponential growth and success under his guidance prompting the move to a larger showroom in 2021.

Will brings an approachable manner and attention to detail in his work at Coverings Sunshine Coast. He has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of flooring, window and outdoor coverings, but specialises in problem solving difficult design or install situations. Hands on, it will often be Will who turns up to onsite measure and quotes, freely giving his expertise on the best products and applications. From a large family himself, Will knows that budgets are extremely important so getting the right style, quality and needs within the customer’s price range is his superpower. Coupled with his caring, friendly and down to earth personality, this is a man you want on your design team.

Keeping Coverings Sunshine Coast in the family is important to Will, whose partner in the business is his sister Ali who has come onboard as the Marketing Director.

Heavily invested in the coastal lifestyle, Will lives with his wife Connie, who runs her own uber successful café, that Sunrise Beach institution, The Chalet. Both Will and Connie are fully aware that their pet dog, Dug the pug, is actually in charge at home.  Always welcoming of beer o’clock on a Friday afternoon, Will’s favourite spot to relax into the weekend is burning his motorbike offroad into the beautiful countryside.

Ali St John

Director of Marketing

I was seven years old when I fell in love with interiors and design. I vividly recall the very first moment I walked into my bedroom after being away. I lived in the shearer’s cottage on our farm in the Darling Downs of Queensland, and Mum had surprised me by completely renovating my room. I can still picture the hot pink walls, the emerald green velvet bed spread and the dark wooden floors.

Living on the farm, we had to be very creative: the shops weren’t close.  My father made our beds by welding pipes together, creating a beautiful bed head design for each of his daughters. Mum finished them off, painting them a bright sunshine yellow.

Even as a child my immediate surroundings had a profound influence on me and the way I felt about design, colours and textures.  These feelings are etched into my mind, and I am often surprised at how accurately I can remember the details and more importantly how those spaces made me feel.

Growing up in the country followed by the city and finally settling into the coastal life, we were always surrounded by different layers of interior beauty.  With this in mind, there has always been a sense of how the space has been created and how it makes you feel.

I have since been obsessed with creating and curating spaces for friends, family and clients over a range of different budgets and projects.  Whether it’s a simple refresh of window coverings. a splash of wall coverings or a new build, it’s the journey of giving new life and energy has been a constant inspiration.  This passion is forever growing and being refined, with our showroom presenting glimpses of our favourite wallpapers, Australia textile artists, European fabrics and Australian invention and manufacturing.

Paul

Window coverings specialist

Don’t be fooled by his laid back style and cheeky grin: the depth and breadth of Paul’s knowledge and experience in window coverings is intimidating. With 28 years’ experience as a glazier and almost a decade in installation, he has certainly earned his title as Coverings’ window specialist.

Paul is dedicated to facilitating installations and advising on products. Supporting the team in the showroom, Paul has real-time industry knowledge on which window coverings work best. Shutters, ‘are timeless, they always look good,’ he enthuses, but it’s his ability to synthesise the look a client is after within the parameters of budget and the space itself. ‘I take each job as it comes; they’re all different. For example, big curtains are popular at the moment, but in a small room they can make the space feel claustrophobic… after so many years in the industry, I know what can work in a room that size, and can advise accordingly.’

All of that experience and knowledge is underpinned with meticulous attention to detail and a craftsmen’s pride in his work. ‘I’ve used tools all my life. I love building things and seeing the finished product.’ In this, client satisfaction is enormous for Paul. ‘You can tell straight away,’ he says. ‘When a client walks in and says “Wow!! How good does that look?” I think Bingo! That’s all I need to hear, that’s what I work toward on every job.’

It’s this attitude that has seen Paul become an integral member of the Coverings Sunshine Coast team. He loves the team dynamic: ‘We all help each other. There’s nothing you wouldn’t do for anyone here.’

Paul moved to the Sunshine Coast a decade ago, and has spent much of his spare time since then exploring the fairways and putting greens of the area: Twin Waters Golf Course is his stand out favourite.

Tara Bell

Administration assistant

With vast experience in the real estate sector, Tara is the most recent addition to the Coverings Sunshine Coast team. She brings a wealth of administrative knowledge, and counts streamlining procedural organisation as one of her favourite parts of her job (yep, Will looked a little strangely at her when she first mentioned this).

For the team, her passion for organisation has transformed a business that worked well to one that is now working at an exceptional level. ‘I love putting in place procedural operations and systems that work: it’s makes everything run smoothly and ensures customers get the best experience possible.’

Of her place within the Coverings team, Tara couldn’t be happier: ‘Being here is amazing. When I started it was so daunting familiarising myself with the business, but Will and Ali have all been so supportive.’
Having made the move from the Gold Coast to Peregian with her three young children eight years ago, Tara loves the quieter lifestyle, smaller community and coastal vibe. The Coolum Surf Club is her favourite place to take the family out for dinner, and she can be found on weekends between the beach and the #mumlife of kids’ sporting commitments.

Client love notes

  • “We are so thrilled with our window coverings. It is so hard to think that it has been a year since we moved in.”

    Jan and Jim Christian

  • “Coverings Noosaville have taken their business to a new level. Its a fantastic experience to visit their showroom. Most Coverings Showrooms look like they have come from the mid century and are typically bleak and unimaginative. The products displayed are very appealing. Systems are app driven and sleek. Messaging and a smooth process is top class. Rate the team very highly“

    Cheryl Nash

  • “Fantastic local company. Very prompt from quoting to installation. Excellent customer service and a very high quality product. Would 100% recommend using Coverings Sunshine Coast.“
