Paluma - Floor prep, flooring, shutters, roller blinds, curtains, awnings
Keen to bring this established family home into the 21st Century, Will and the team were called to beautiful Sunrise Beach, tasked with transforming the inside of this double storeyed beach shack into a modern-day coastal oasis. The beautiful result of expertly laid and installed floors, shutters, blinds and awnings is obvious!
As always, flooring preparation took centre stage, with the team determined to ensure a perfect substrate before any of that beautiful loose lay was even loaded off the truck. They started with a full self-levelling flat coat, which was followed by a light grind and an extra feather coat on top to get the surface as smooth as possible.
Next the team installed the quality Proline Quantum NextGen loose lay in a light Proline Quantum Core colour range to really ramp up the coastal living feel. The Coverings team love working with Proline Quantum NextGen loose lay, as it has a super rigid core which allows for less expansion and less gappage between planks. Best of all, the end result is outstanding: this is a beautiful and genuine looking product with an authentic underfoot feel. The untrained eye would be hard pressed to pick this as a faux-wood floor.
To complete the beachside lifestyle design, Will was able to advise on the best interior and exterior window coverings.
Inside, a combination of interior shutters, roller blinds and curtains were used. In the relaxed dining area, roller blinds were installed to take full advantage of the large windows and their offerings of light and views. Shutters were employed in the more intimate living spaces like the bedrooms to really block out that early morning sun and summer heat, whilst curtains give a luxurious comfort and easy privacy to the other living areas.
Outside on the all-important deck over the pool, electric awnings were installed. Will is a strong advocate of these and not just because of the way they present, but the excellent shade they provide and ease of use. Nothing says ‘Summer’ more than lazing under a striped awning after you’ve been in the pool or over at the beach.
